(More customer reviews)I bought this keyboard to replace the original keyboard that got damaged. I damaged it by sliding it into its laptop case which also held a clipboard. The clipboard slid across the keyboard and snapped off several keys. So beware, this keyboard's keys can be snapped off easily
This keybard was easy to install once I found directions on the web for disassembly. Just take your time and look for the individual snaps that hold plastic pieces in place. WHen you find one, use a small screwdriver to release each snap. Don't try to just rip off the pieces or you might break off the little snaps. The procedure starts with removing the battery and then removing the 2 screws that hold on the Inspiron plastic piece above the keyboard. Once these screws are removed, you can unsnap the piece.
As for the keyboard, it works just like the original keyboard. the only fault with it is that it does not have the exact same key labeling as the original. The changes are in the function row keys so now that I have this new keyboard, I can't tell where nute or volume chnage is. Otherwise it works great. The lack of directions and the loss of key lables deduct one star. SHipping was fast and the transaction went smoothly.
