Laptop Keyboard for Gateway MX6000 Series Review

The only thing lacking in this replacement part is the instructions on how to do it. Once I figured it out (I'm pretty sure there's a web page how-to somewhere), I had it in and working in no time just like new. This keyboard is a perfect replacement part for this laptop series.

Verizon HTC Droid Incredible Replacement Touch Screen Digitizer Front Glass Review

Verizon HTC Droid Incredible Replacement Touch Screen Digitizer Front Glass

I dropped my HTC Incredible and shattered the screen. I was informed by Verizon that I had the extended warranty but not the insurance. Their suggestion? Buy a new one at full retail price or $599.99... Right...
I'll be honest, I am technically inclined and it still made me nervous to take my phone apart even with those handy instructions: [...]
It took me a couple of hours but I was able to take it apart, replace the screen and put it back together. Words of advice:
. If you're all thumbs, have someone else do it.
. Make sure to disconnect ALL ribbon cables before removing the motherboard. Be especially mindful of the small ribbon cable going through the track-pad's hole.
. You will spend most of your time removing the glued-on shattered glass from the frame so you'll want to have a waste basket near by and possibly a small vacuum.
I rated the product 4 out of 5 stars because of the lack of adhesive to hold the screen in place. Clear double sided tape works fine but I still feel it should be included.
Nevertheless my phone works flawlessly and looks like out of the box for $35 and a couple of hours of work instead of $600.
What more can I ask for?

Apple iPhone 3GS Headphone Audio Jack Flex Cable Black Review

Apple iPhone 3GS Headphone Audio Jack Flex Cable Black

This part worked just as advertised. It fit my 3GS without issue and fixed my mute/vib switch, power switch, and intermittent headphone jack sensor issues. This sells for $30-50 at the major Apple part houses, and there was nothing about this component that made me think it's anything but an OEM part with quality and function identical to my original. It probably really only costs $0.91 to make, but under $10 is still good value.
Installation is straightworward, but requires pretty much complete disassembly of the phone. If you have been debating battery replacement, do it now, because you need to remove it anyway (or at least the job is much easier if you do). The most fiddly part is swapping the switch components from the old cable to the new one - they require careful alignment and application of sticky tabs on the ribbon cable. If you're not good with precision X-acto work it might be worth a few bucks more to get the metal pre-installed, as I've seen available from other Amazon sellers.
This installation guide was invaluable. I used a bamboo chopstick sharpened to a point instead of a plasitc tool, which worked fine. Be sure to have a quality 00 Phillips, and be gentle. These are tiny screws and don't need much torque!

Home button was very easy to install, and works great. In order for my old home button to work, i had to press down VERY hard. But, after i installed this new home button, it works just like new. Great product!

iPhone 3g / 3gS Headphone Audio Jack Flex Cable With Metal Buttons Pre-Installed - Black Review

iPhone 3g / 3gS Headphone Audio Jack Flex Cable With Metal Buttons Pre-Installed - Black

Used to fix a non-working power/sleep button on an iPhone 3GS and it worked great.
One thing different from the original flex cable in the iPhone is that the mute switch (that attaches to your mute button) is not connected to the flex cable at one spot it should be. It wasn't that big of a deal since the spot it needs to be connected to is only for stability (to hold the switch in place when you toggle the mute button) and was easy to line up and fix in place using super-glue.
Also, the wording of the item is a little confusing in regards to "metal buttons". All it means is that the little round metal contact buttons that are taped to the circuit board are already attached (i.e. you don't need to move them from your old flex cable). You will not get a new mute, volume, or power button. I figured this was the case but, since the description wasn't very specific, it may not be immediately obvious.
The only problem I had with this part was that the "down" volume button does not have the satisfying click feel to it while the "up" volume button does. The down volume works perfectly fine otherwise. I even tried moving the little metal contact buttons from my old flex cable but it didn't help. I'm sure it was just bad luck that I got a flex cable that had this issue and like I said, the volume button works perfectly fine otherwise so it wasn't a big deal.
Other than the volume button, this cable is a perfect replacement for the 3GS's flex cable and that the buttons and headphone jack work just as well as the original iPhone's.
Overall, I'm happy with this aftermarket part and would recommend it to anyone adventurous enough replace it themselves.
