Quiet, comfortable key touch, well placed key positions. Digital display bright and a good size. Easy paper load. Attractive. Nice conversion feature.
Paper on outside might cause problems on crowded or dirty desk areas.
We got our models for $50 at Office Max.
BIG DESIGN FLAW:
The clear panel in front of the paper is placed too high in relation to the paper tape feed. When seated, the first printed number remains completely out of sight until one has typed in two more numbers. One would have to constantly use the "feed" button, stand up, or prop the machine up at a 45 degree angle to see each number typed!!
Casio needs to fix this.
Problem two: it has (as did all the printing models there) reel to reel ribbon holders to load instead of cassettes. These are identical to those found in vintage typewriters, only tinier. I really don't get this change. A cassette is so much easier to load than fiddling with two reels of inky tape. This is technology regression!
Lesson: make the store put in some paper so you can try the thing out just as you will use it.

It arrived in a gift box wrapped with a pink ribbon and personalized card thanking me for my support - which I thought was a really nice touch. I like that the cover is built in and I don't have to worry about losing the cap. I also like that it comes with a nice lanyard so I can wear it around my neck and show it off to people.
When I plugged it in for the first time, my computer recognized it right away and I was able to start copying files to it immediately. The 4 GB size is more than adequate for me as I have been able to put lots of pictures and files on there with no problem.
Highly recommend this product; especially if you want to support a wonderful cause!

I have not seen the packaging for it so I don't know if it claims it works both ways but according to StarTech's website, it is described only as a Host or Motherboard IDE/PATA connector to SATA drive adapter. Most likely the person that originally wrote the description was confused or misinformed of it's capabilities or they didn't understand that the ide connector on host side works differently that the ide connector on the drive side.
I have only seen one product that is suppose to work both ways but it was much bigger than this simple approx. 1 inch X 4 inch single chip board and is connected by cables on both the ide and sata sides and not as a direct plug in to the ide connector.

Sharp UX-3CR Thermal Transfer Ribbon for Fax UX300/305/460 Review

(More customer reviews)The Sharp Facsimile UX-355L I purchased for an astonishing ($) after rebates at .... Its features, including percentage copying, one-button dialing, "smart ring" recognition, plain paper, were impressive and it faxed perfectly, while automatically configuring itself to dial the least expensive long-distance service. For what it can do, I'd give this machine five stars. BUT, when I figured out the cost per page to receive faxes (MSRP roughly 20-25 cents per page), I almost brought it back to the store. Then I considered two facts: 1. I fax much more material than I receive (which doesn't involve the ribbon); and 2. I can receive faxes on my computer and print them out on my laserjet printer instead. So, for me it's a good deal. Regarding the price-gouging, write Sharp to complain! And tell them you intend to purchase generic ribbons. But hunt for bargains, like AMAZON.COM, which currently has the UX-3CR RIBBON for ($), dropping the receiving-page cost to 15 cents, still steep if you receive a lot of facsimiles via the machine. Unfortunately, nearly all the newer machines I looked at engage this gouging practice. Due to Sharp's deceptive techniques, I should give it 0 stars; but capitalist competition often encourages the worst decision-making. That's a good enough reason to be understanding, but hardly an excuse though. Best bet: If you have an older machine (sturdily made with strong metal components) that uses a generic black inkjet cartridge, keep it in shape and it costs next to nothing to receive pages.

Prodipe Pro Ribbon 8 Powered Studio Monitors Review

I am a student in college for music technology and over the past 6 months or so I have been researching to find the best studio monitors under $500 a pair. I compared specs with almost every other option in this price range and these easily beat out much of the competition. Unfortunately since my relatively small studio setup is forced to share a room with my drumset, a treadmill, and a considerable amount of storage, I currently don't have the flexibility of setting these up with the sonically ideal placement. Instead they are placed on a metal shelf rack unit roughly 5-6" lower than ear level. To make matters worst the left monitor is directly against a wall and the right is actually in a corner. Due to the cramped room my drumset stool doubles as my engineers chair so I am unable to sit back far enough from the monitors to easily hear proper stereo imaging. Despite these less than ideal conditions I wanted to purchase monitors that would still be as close to accurate as possible not only in that room but also would be great down the road with a better setup. One thing that was a big consideration for me was a front firing bass port because of the proximity to the wall/corner. Also I don't have money or room for a sub so I wanted a larger frequency range than most 5" drivers can provide. After reading reviews and painstakingly translating many from French. I decided to try to listen to them somewhere. Unfortunately, there is only 2 places in the USA that even distribute them and none are even in my state. Never the less I went to my local guitar center and a few other music stores to find out info. Not one person I talked to knew about them or was even very familiar with the brand. However after much debating and searching through forums I decided to go for it. I am incredibly pleased I did!
Granted even though I don't have much experience in the field and in some regards i am still a noob, I can confidently say these are the clearest sounding speakers I have ever heard. The sound is very crisp and they are an enormous improvement from my $100 Bose computer speakers I was using before. The high end is very focused but not harsh sounding and the front bass port and 8" kevlar cone provide plenty of bass frequency for my main styles of music (rock, alternative, metal, techno). I have done some listening tests and from what I can tell, when I move so I am in the sweet spot the stereo imaging is great! There are 1/4" and xlr connectors which is nice, a blue led to show if it is on, a volume adjustment knob, and a 4 position HF adjustment knob. They can get plenty loud without distorting (loud enough for me to hear downstairs) and nothing sounds hyped. The only downsides I can see is the power switches are on the rear but I have them run through a surge protector by my feet and just use the switch on it to power them on/off. Also they come with European power cables so you have to pick up 2 standard 3 prong US ones. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase especially considering many similar 8" monitors are this much for only 1.

(More customer reviews)I ordered 2-color ribbons for my business' Star Micronics SP200 Printer. I was shopping for Nu-Kote brand ribbons for this application. I found the proper Nu-Kote printer ribbons offered for sale on Amazon and ordered 2 boxes. When received, I found that the ribbons the vender (thefactorydepot.com) had sent me were generic "no-name brand" "compatible" ribbons, not the Nu-Kote brand products I had ordered. When I called to complain, I was told that they would pay to have them returned. Fine, but by the time of receipt I was completely out of replacement ribbons and there were no replacements available at a retail outlet in my local area. So, I was forced to keep them. As has been my experience in the past, the performance of "compatible" ribbons, has been no better than just "fair", and purchased at a much higher "name-brand" price than generic compatibles can be had for at sites like eBay.
So, beware this vender. They, at least in this case, engaged in misleading advertising.

(More customer reviews)These light strips are fantastic! The kit will come with everything needed to get up and running; the power supply, light strip, controller, and remote. The LED strip ribbon can be cut after every three LEDs, you'll just have to solder the four leads on (or purchase the $2.00 lead) in order to connect a power supply/controller to them again. The strip contains an adhesive backing for mounting to virtually any dry surface. On one end you have the plug wired in for you to connect to the controller, on the other side there is already four leads attached for you if you would like to purchase a driver to hard wire into the strip.
These little LEDs are very bright! I can't imagine what the super bright LEDs available would be like! The remote control includes 16 brightness levels, a strobe effect albeit very slow, and smooth transition from color to color, and fade transition from color to color, and a flash mode. There are 15 colors to choose from from the RGB spectrum. The remote is small and light weight (about the size of a credit card but about 1/4" thick) and runs off of a common CR2025 battery. The range of the remote is about 15-20 feet.
The only problem that arose while testing the kit is with the remote. The color spectrum on it isn't the same as what the LED strip projects. For instance, when you press the Green button the LEDs light up Blue or press the Blue button and the LEDs project Green. The Red spectrum controls the Blues, the Blue spectrum controls the Reds, but at least the Green spectrum still controls the Greens :)
Overall I'm very excited and pleased with these lights. I'm using the first kit for shadow lighting for under my bar I'm building. I intend on purchasing more kits for walkway lighting in our Home Theater and also for accent lighting in our kitchen, office, and bathrooms.

Canon IR-100 Typewriter Ribbon Review

That item is being discontinued so I may have to dispose of the typewriter when I use up the 3 that I bought.
