USA SPEC PA11-TOY - iPod in-vehicle interface adapter Review

USA SPEC PA11-TOY - iPod in-vehicle interface adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I actually purchased the sister item to this for my MP3 player, the DFTOY by USA Spec, which is an AUX input only. (Whereas this one is specialized to work with the iPod and any other AUX source.) Anyways, I installed it in a 2005 Toyota Tacoma - attaching it to the stock 6disc CD changer. If you search the web, you can find detailed installation tips as well as photos of other users installations. I was a little nervous about disassembling the dash on my new truck to put this in. But I was happily surprised to find out how easy it was and how well it sounds. DON'T use one of those lame FM transmitters - they're junk. This is the way to go.

IDC 10 / DB9 Male, Motherboard Serial Port Connector cable Review

IDC 10 / DB9 Male, Motherboard Serial Port Connector cable
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was looking for a standard 9-pin RS232 serial header cable and this was it. I had read from various reviews that there are different versions of these things but this one is the standard straight-thru pinout. So, unless you're looking for a proprietary one for specific equipment, this one should work for normal standard PC motherboards.
Got it today, plugged it into my standard PC motherboard (ECS A780GM-A) COM header and connected my TV cable box to it and viola, my MythTV DVR PC was changing channels on the cable box the same as it was before with my old motherboard that had a serial port on the back.

CablesToBuy™ ZIF CE 1.8 Inch To SATA Serial-ATA Adapter BIG PCB BOARD Review

CablesToBuyâ„¢ ZIF CE 1.8 Inch To SATA Serial-ATA Adapter BIG PCB BOARD
Average Reviews:

I needed to use ZIF ribbon cable 1.8 inch SSD hard drive in a new SATA laptop. This did the trick. I did have to cut off the mounting area of the board so that it would fit in the new laptop. There is no circuitry in that area of the board, so it did not hurt the function. I cut off quite a bit (over an inch).

Cables To Go 10338 DB25F Parallel Add-A-Port Adapter with Bracket (Gray) Review

Cables To Go 10338 DB25F Parallel Add-A-Port Adapter with Bracket (Gray)
Average Reviews:

This cable, when laid flat, measures 12 inches from the backplate to the tip of the header pin connector.
With a microATX motherboard in my microATX case, it just barely didn't reach the furthest PCI slot at the bottom of the case. By juggling PCI cards, I was able to use a closer PCI slot.
With one hard drive in the top drive bay, this cable would have just reached the furthest slot, with the cable stretched in a straight line. However, two of the three disk drives intruded on the shortest possible cable path.
Take a minute to measure the length of cable you'll need in your case, by using another ribbon cable to simulate your actual cable run, before you buy this.
Otherwise, the cable appears to be of reasonable quality and works as intended.

Cables To Go 30501 FlexUSB USB 2.0 A Male to A Female Adapter (Black) Review

Cables To Go 30501 FlexUSB USB 2.0 A Male to A Female Adapter (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered this device for use with my notebook thinking it would allow me to flip dongles and flash drives any other direction than straight out.
I was more than a little dissappointed.
Pros - flexible, ratcheting, good connectors
Cons - not stiff enough, internal ribbon cable pinches
While this looked like what I need, a couple of major problems jumped out.
1) If you use this to reposition a flash drive (OCZ 8gb) and have to carry your notebook, just the act of walking will allow the drive to move. If you don't check before you set it down - one broken device.
2) To allow the flexibility, a thin ribbon cable runs internally from the male to female end. Within a first few tries, I was finding the ribbon cable was getting pinched between parts not allowing a full 90 degrees of movement and damaging the ribbon cable.
Due to the price, I will use this a bit more but expect due the poor design construction, it will have a short life span.
Recommendation: do not buy this device.

Dymo LetraTag Plus LT-100H Personal Label Maker Review

Dymo LetraTag Plus LT-100H Personal Label Maker
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been desperately trying to get organized, and when I found this gizmo from heaven at a heavenly price, naturally I jumped on it. After a few weeks of labeling frenzy, much like one of my other fellow reviewers, the tops of my labels started fading, then the middles, and soon the entire text of all my labels, poof! disapparated! Yes! I am a Harry Potter fan, but not for my labels in invisible ink. Tried all of the suggestions from the website. Cleaning, changing batteries, labels, cartridges. No luck. Still shooting blanks. Of course no way to put in new ink cartridges and it seems like the ink ran out. So waiting to hear back from customer service. Will post back, when and if I do. Really sad-that my labeling frenzy has been thwarted!!

SATA to IDE/IDE to SATA Drive Interface Adapter Review

SATA to IDE/IDE to SATA Drive Interface Adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wanted to say that I was able to get this adapter to work in the Intel D865GBF, D865GLC and D875PBZ series of motherboards in both directions from SATA-to-IDE and IDE-to-SATA. Here are two tips, make sure the connector is plugged in over all 40 IDE pins, I have made the mistake more then once of not centering the plug over all 40 pins and be off by one column and therefore causing it to not work. The other tip is make sure you read the markings on the two SATA connectors, one of them is designed for conversion in one direction, and the other is for the opposite direction. Its important you plug your SATA cable into the right connector depending on which direction you are converting!
I did try to use this adapter on an older ASUS A7V8X-X motherboard and I had some trouble having it recognize the 80GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA HD. It would first recognize it in the BIOS but when I did a reboot it would not find it the second time until I powered off and back on the unit. I'm not sure if I had a loose connection in the 40pin IDE port on the motherboard or if I didnt have a BIOS setting correct for the ultra PATA transfer speed. What's interesting is that the A7V8X-X has Ultra ATA133 speed support using the VIA chipset, whereas the Intel only has up to Ultra ATA100 speed support using the Intel chipset. I did not have chance to try to lower the ASUS ATA speed from 133 down to 100, I'm not even sure if that can be done in the BIOS or not.

SATA to PATA/IDE Hard Drive Interface Adapter Review

SATA to PATA/IDE Hard Drive Interface Adapter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have an old PC (Approximately 7 years old). I wanted to upgrade to an SATA drive, but this old PC did not have the ability to accept SATA drives. I purchased another type of adapter. It was the "Ide To Sata Drive Motherboard by StarTech". That adapter was supposed to convert the EIDE bus on the motherboard to SATA but the system could not recognize the drive.
I was pleasantly surprised when I received this "SATA to PATA/IDE Hard Drive Interface Adapter" when I attached it to the SATA drive, plugged the ribbon cable into it, and the PC recognized the drive and I was up and running.
The description is misleading and I don't want to be a "JERK" either. However, but by looking at the photograph of this item, you can plainly tell that it will not convert in reverse, as the other reviewer states.
I would recommend this adapter.
