(More customer reviews)After owning a P-touch labeler for years,I found the need for a more duable label than my "M" tape was providing. I opted for this "TZ" tape labeler. Good price,looks good. What a mistake!!! The only thing well designed about this unit is it's abilty to waste more tape than it uses!! If you print a label of any size,count on it costing you two full inches of tape to do it!!! At $20.00 a roll,prepare to be screwed each time you push the print button.Then go find the scissors and cut the excess off,so the label does not look as stupid as the person who designed this pile of junk!!! But cheer up you can push six buttons,every time,to reduce the margin to "narrow". This will reduce the waste to a half inch on ONE side of the label,and print two small dots on the other side,this will show you where to cut it with your scissors,to match the "narrow" side. Also you must do ALL settings for EVERY label EVERY time!!Another "great feature,it will use the same amount of tape regaurdless of print size,so you will only print large print.What a joke!!! What a hassle!! Now the good news. I used to make lots of labels,and now I only make labels for VERY important items. And only when I am up to getting mad for doing so. I really wish amazon would allow us to give items a negative five stars! You have been warned!

(More customer reviews)We've used this for about 2 months now and have been very satisfied. It was very easy to set up and we have had no problems with it. We have it set up with a "distinctive ring" feature so we can have both a voice number and a fax number on the same physical phone line. It has had no problem handling this and it has always been able to tell a fax call from a voice one. We also have an answering machine, PC Modem, cordless phone, and credit card terminal all hooked up to the same physical line as this fax machine and have no conflicts or problems. The footprint is very small which is nice if you're running out of deskspace.
The print quality is OK. We use to have an inkjet based fax machine and it was better.
When your comparing prices on these machines, be sure to add the cost of a replacement cartridge to the purchase price of this one (...)The cartridge that comes with it is only good for about 20-30 pages. I get that much junk fax in a couple of weeks. If you decide to buy this one, get a spare cartridge also.
We use this in a home office set up and only get a few of faxes a day. If you have high volume fax needs, this may not be the machine for you. It's slow and I'm not convinced that it would hold up very long under high-volume situations.

(More customer reviews)This printer replaced an old Seiko Instruments label printer that had pretty much died of old age. I opted for the non-Turbo model as speed wasn't a necessity for me, plus it saved a few bucks. Within 15 min. I had it hooked up, software installed, and printing. The print quality excellent. Software installation was painless (Win98SE and XP Pro), as is changing the labels when switching between the various sizes this printer is capable of handling. I installed via the serial port since I didn't have a vacant USB port. The package includes everything you'll need to get started, including both a USB and serial cable, and a sample package of large labels.
I found a couple of bonus features that prove to be useful. First- you can share this printer over a network simply by configuration and installing the software on the other computers. Second- there is an additional piece of software titled "Address Fixer" that will correctly format any US address to USPS standards (including the Zip+4 zip code) via your Internet connection.
Overall, I'm very pleased with my LabelWriter 330 and would recommend it to others shopping for this type of product.

A cheap price but I would rather to buy a better one if I knew the quality of it is so poor.

Brother ML-100 Daisy Wheel Electronic Typewriter Review

The daisy wheel breaks after typing less than 10 pages and the warranty doesn't cover the daisy wheel. Brother's customer service is pretty weak too. I've been observing a bunch of other folks using this or very similar brother typewriters and the problems with the daisy wheel seem pretty consistent. I'm pretty unhappy with this purchase considering I've typed less than 50 pages on this thing and I've had to replace the typing ribbon and the daisy wheel. It's not a good product.

You can buy the knock off ones online, but this buyer was reliable and the merchandise was exactly what I ordered. A great purchase, a must really, because it erases every mistake that you make...granted if you are typing ncr paper might be a challenge, it will only erase over what's on the top copy. However, I highly recommend you get this...believe me if only all life's past mistakes could be erased as easily... I'll be the first in line for this sort of thing,,,, oh, the angst of prom night....what I'd give to erase my date! Yes Mom I should have gone with Dad, at least he was taller :)

The copy machine part of fax makes nice clean copies, too. This wouldn't be very cost effective if you are going to receive a lot of faxes or make a lot of copies. It is great for someone like me who has to fax stuff for work occasionally and doesn't want to drive to the library and pay $2.00 a page.

The best part about this typewriter is that even though it's electronic, it still makes the familiar old "clacking" sound as you type, and has the familiar typewriter font--really sets the mood for creative writing. I wouldn't have expected a typewriter to have spell-check, but this one does--it makes a little dinging sound if you spell a word incorrectly, and gives you the ability to erase one letter, the word, or an entire line with the (included and already installed) correction tape. You can adjust the positioning of the paper yourself with the knob on the side, which would be helpful when filling out forms. Includes a keyboard cover to keep dust out of the keys, and a carrying handle. Overall, the typewriter is easy to set up and use.

(More customer reviews)The white on clear tape (this item) with strong adhesive is laminated and great for weather exposed conditions, or on places where you don't want the label to come off too easily. Because the text is white on a clear background, it's also an excellent choice when you don't want the label to stand out too much on a dark item. Even though the tape is about 26', you can conserve some of the length when printing multiple labels by setting your margin to 'Continuous' on your Brother labeler and printing several off in a row before cutting the last one from the device and using scissors to separate the individual labels where they are marked.

Brother 26.2-Foot Black on White 1/2-Inch Labeling Tape (TZ231) Review

(More customer reviews)I have used several Brother label makers, all of which use the TZ series tapes. Of those tapes, my two favorite are black on white in this width and the 3/8" width. I prefer the 1/2" width for hanging file folders because the label fits nicely on the tab. I like the 3/8" width (TZ-221) for use with manila folders because the narrower width positions closer to the edge of the tab.
There is also a 1/2" tape that is black on clear. However, the clear tapes also show any dirt or debris that might be trapped behind the tape. Thus, if you are in an environment that has even a small amount of dirt or other contamination, it may be readily visible against a light background after the tape is positioned.
One other caution regarding these tapes; the backing can be difficult to remove. The newer tape cartridges have a split backing that is easier to remove than the original single piece backing. Even so, a certain amount of manual dexterity is required to remove the backing.
UPDATE: Since the time I originally wrote this review, Brother has modified the backing to be in two pieces, making the backing easier to remove. However, the individual backing pieces can be a pain to throw away because they like to stick to just about everything through static electricity.
This tape adheres readily; the print is nicely defined and has a high contrast. The tape can be slightly difficult to handle. Overall, this tape is very useful in a variety of applications and one of my two favorite label maker tapes.
