Tascam P11/CART/TAS Disc Printer Cartiridge (Black, Blue, Green, Red) Review

The best advice that I can give about this ribbon is related with the way to use the 4 printing areas in which P-11 TEAC software lets you print. Even when you choose to print a small heading, it uses about three inches of ribbon for EACH area resulting in a big waste of ribbon and unused ink. I may suggest the use of only ONE area per CD taking all the advantage of the area space given by the software. In my case, I can print almost 120 CD's with only one ribbon with the mentioned recomendation.

Epson C11C558001 LQ-590 24PIN Nar 529CPS USB Par Type B Dot Matrix Review

I can't rate the product on any features other than what we purchased it for - printing multi-part invoices. If your objective is to fill in pre-printed forms from a software application, forget the LQ-590 - the "top-of-form" setting on the printer will be overwritten by the software. Epson technical support appears to feel "top margin" and "top-of-form" are the same thing.
What this means is that if you wish to start printing at a certain spot on the form, it is nearly impossible to do so. We use a business accounting program where all of the forms are created in the application with a default top margin. Normally all that is required when a new dot-matrix printer is purchased is to re-adjust the "top-of-form" position on the printer so it prints correctly. Epson uses the "MicroAdjust" feature for this. Unfortunately, the LQ-590 resets the "top-of-form" position to it's default .333 inch whenever a print job from a software application (even a simple one like Notepad) is received, meaning the only method available to you to adjust the top-of-form position is with the "top margin" setting in the application.
The difficulty with this is that if you adjust the top margin position for the LQ-590, other printers on the network also printing this form will no longer print correctly. Worse yet, in our case the top margins are hard coded into the application, and we cannot change them. We had no choice but to return the unit and subsequently purchased an Oki Microline 320 - no problems with it. We also still have a few Epson LQ-570's that work perfectly.

When our old panasonic printer quit working, after 12 years on continuous use, I wasn't sure if I would be able to find a dot matrix to replace it. This printer has worked great. It is fast and easy to use. We have it set up in a business application printing about 20 sheets an hour, 24 hours a day and I have not had any problems with it.

Epson PictureMate Snap 4x6 Photo Printer Review

Epson PictureMate Snap 4x6 Photo Printer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just puchased the PictureMate Flash which is the same as the Snap except it has a built in CD burner. After corresponding with Epson I will probably be returning the Flash. According to Epson Web Support the new PictureMates have gone back to using dye based inks and use 4 color inks. I quote from Mark A of the Epson Connection "The new PictureMates, which includes the Flash all use dye based inks and are four color".
Epson now advertises about the prints from the new PictureMates in the following way "Best of all, prints from PictureMate Snap will last generations, and longer than traditional, film-processed photos. Each print is smudge, scratch, water and fade resistant for convenient, worry free handling."
Whereas the replaced PictureMate Deluxe used 6 color inks that according to Epson are "Then, print using superior 6-color archival pigment inks, for photos that will stay brilliant for years longer than any other digital printing option. In fact, they outlast traditional film-processed photos as much as 2-4 times longer. And, they last longer than prints from other dedicated 4" x 6" photo printers by as much as 25 times¹. All this, and they're even water and smudge-proof for worry-free handling."
In short the older PictureMate Deluxe used 6 color pigment ink that is "water and smudge-proof for worry-free handling" while the new PictureMates use 4 dye inks which are "smudge, scratch, water and fade resistant for convenient, worry free handling".
The older PictureMate prints are claimed to be "water and smudge-proof" the new PictureMate prints are "smudge.. and water resistant".
Is this a big deal, I think it is. If your like me, I like to display my pictures on the refrigerator and show them around at the dinner table when we go out to eat. No longer are the pictures water proof and dye inks fade quicker in the sunlight then do pigmented inks.
In the past when Epson printers were the only pigmented ink 4X6" photo printers I would recommend them hands down over the dye ink printers because of the permanence of the prints, now Epson has gone back to dye inks and 4 colors. I would check out other manufactures before buying an Epson portable snap shot printer because many of the other manufactures offer more conveniences such as printing both 5"X7" and 4"X6" and now offer as good if not better picture quality.
The PicureMate Deluxe as of today December 15, 2006 is still offered by Epson on line with an instant rebate bringing the price to $89.99 an excellant buy for an excellant printer.
The Epson PictureMate Deluxe with its 6 pigmented inks produced great color long lasting sharp prints. My wife loves the simplicity and ease of use and the GREAT pictures the PictureMate Deluxe produces. If you want great prints that won't fade easily in daylight get one of the PictureMate Deluxes before they are gone.
In favor of the new PictureMate Snap and Flash they are said to have the ability to take red eye out without using a computer, a nice feature if you are using your flash on a point and shoot camera to take pictures.
I have not tested this feature on my new Flash and it would be interesting to know if anyone has experience using the red eye removal feature.
I have given the new PictureMates a 3 rating because I now find them to be on average with other comparable printers, unlike the predecessor PictureMate Deluxe which I would rate as a 5 because its pigmented ink was far superior over other manufactures using dye inks.

Epson LQ-2090 24PIN 529CPS-DOTPR WCAR ( C11C559001 ) Review

I bought this printer for my company to replace a $3500 Epson DFX8000 which is now obsolete and repairing again and again was not a viable option. With that said, I searched for a more economical impact printer to do four-part invoices on continuous sheets. Later, I will go to laser style invoices. For this printer, it does exactly like it advertises and the actual appearance of my invoices has greatly improved with the 24 pin printer head instead of 9 pin. The ribbon has lasted for almost two months on a printer that does 65% of the work for a multi-state company. Once you figure out which font to use, it will double strike for better quality (slower print) or single strike for a faster print job. You have to remember to let the machine park the paper so that the paper thickness sensor resets the printer head and your paper does not jam.
The really bad thing is the fact that it comes with only one tractor assembly. That means that you have to switch the tractor assembly from either the front or the rear for optimum performance. If it came with two, then I could switch paper more conveniently. However, it was well worth the money I spent until I revamp the system and get a good laser printer when business picks up. Since it is a very good printer, I will be able to postpone investing more money.

I would recommend this to anyone who needs to print 5-part forms (like for a car dealership) with just one caveat; brand new 64-bit Windows won't work with this printer, so you may need to consult the people who provide your paperwork software to get it running smoothly (which they should be able to do just fine)

I work at a small business. They own an old Epson printer for invoicing. Since it is a pretty old printer they don't sell it at places like Office Depot, or Staples. Either way if your looking for this, then that means you need it like I do for invoicing. I like the fact, though, that it is very durable and with a decent price. I highly recommend buying it from here.

Epson Black Ink Cartridge (T060120) Review

Epson Black Ink Cartridge (T060120)
Average Reviews:

Have not used this cartridge so I am not rating this re-manufactured ink cartridge for its print quality. My rating reflects my dissatisfaction with this vendors deceptive advertising. This vendor is selling re-manufactured cartridges and most people wouldn't know it by looking at the items web page. What I have learned, if the item description doesn't say OEM it isn't an Epson manufactured ink cartridge. I think if a vendor is selling re-manufactured ink cartridges it should be in the item description! Some will say the price should tell you it is not OEM but a lot of vendors list a low price to draw customers and then recoup there losses with an elevated shipping cost!

I needed a ribbon for an old dot matrix printer and was surprised to find one listed. I was pleased to find that the ribbon fit perfectly because I feared that the product might look like what I needed but not actually do the job. The ribbon is allowing to print some very old files before I take the computer and printer to recycling.

Epson BLK RIBBON CART-LQ-2080 ( S015337 ) Review

Epson BLK RIBBON CART-LQ-2080 ( S015337 )
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When you first install the product, it starts off printing very sharp and clear, no complaints. But in no time, like in 3-4 months or so, if not less, the guide that's inserted into the print head cracks before the ribbon even runs out, or is that supposed to be your indicator that the ribbon has in fact ran out... I don't know. And of course, once it cracks, it's pretty much useless as the ribbon will get all folded up, wrinkled, and creased, there's no fixing it. So I've pretty much had to toss it and replace it again and again.
