This product is used when your iPod touch 3g screen/glass is broken but still you can see the images of your apps (still working).
You have to see Youtube videos as a guide before replacing the screen.
I've received the product on time with very nice packing and tools (screw drivers + - types, various safe pry plastic tools). The only thing that you need and it wasn't included was the sticker glue (usually 3M brand) which usually included by other suppliers with this product. However, many other types of home glue will work very fine specially UHU glue. I've managed to replace my daughter's iPod touch 3g in less than 40 minutes. I have no experience. I used Youtube videos as a reference. I watched them 3 times. the replacement was not an easy process as it seemed on Youtube. I recommend to have an assistant for the replacement especially when removing/reconnecting the small ribbon that connect the digitizer with the iPod motherboard.Mid frame: is a thin plastic frame where your glass screen (this product) resides. Simply it will be the frame of this product. the mid frame and the screen glass are glued tightly. You have to separate them to fix this product on the mid frame and here where you'll need the glue.
Very important when replacing!!
Be careful not to break the mid frame!! it is as stated above very thin. It is required when you reassemble your screen. It is not included with this product. It is already part of your existing iPod.
to avoid breaking the mid frame. make sure that you're sliding the safe pry tightly to the external chrome frame of the iPod. Of course you've to slide between the external chrome frame and the mid frame so that the glass comes out along with the mid frame. While you're sliding you'll not be able to see the mid frame. even before sliding the pry you can't see the mid frame. You will be able to see the mid frame only when part of glass screen comes out. while sliding small clips will be open.
Be careful not to tear the ribbon while removing the glass screen!!
The said ribbon exists at the upper left corner of the iPod.
After removing the ribbon your iPod's (screen glass/digitizer + mid frame + home button) and your other remaining iPod will be separated. separate the mid frame from the glass screen (this product). your home button will be separated as well.
simply reassemble. Use the glue to fix this product on the mid frame. You need to remove the old glue. take your time.
In general the product was excellent and works perfectly; however, the installation requires paying attention and concentration. Plan your work before starting.
