I have had the opportunity to use the Kodak 8500 to develop my home pictures. My FH20's pictures printed wonderfully. The higher DPI is clearly present and the printing speed is not as bad as I thought.
If you can find this printer, the quality is probably the best you will find for under 1000 USD. If you are considering a 7+ MP camera and want great quality shots, this is the way to go.
THE BIGGEST ISSUE WITH THIS PRINTER:
As of September 30, 2005 Kodak announced that this product was discontinued with support ending in 2008 (approximately).
