Sharp UX355L Plain-Paper Fax Machine Review

Sharp UX355L Plain-Paper Fax Machine
Average Reviews:

This machine, the UX355L, sends and receives fax transmissions
with excellent clarity and reliability. I have had no problem
with the paper feeder, although some of the other reviewers have indicated difficulties. The machine is compact and very attractive to look at. However, my complaint is that the image film and cartridge are very difficult to replace. As a result of considerable frustration, I jammed the plastic holding cartridge and have been trying to purchase a replacement--without success.

Sharp offers quite a bargain with its UX355L plain-paper fax machine. Convenient extras such as a 10-page automatic document feeder, seven one-touch and 40 speed dial settings, and an auto-redial feature are all designed to help save you valuable time.
The paper tray holds up to 60 sheets and is adjustable, accommodating either letter- or legal-size paper. A 486 KB internal memory stores approximately 28 pages of incoming (and outgoing) faxes. The fully functioning telephone is caller ID ready, provides on-hook dialing, can handle up to four numbers on a single phone line, and automatically routes long-distance calls to help save you money.
The UX355L also functions as a copier with multiple-copy capabilities (up to 99 copies) and comes backed with a 90-day parts-and-labor warranty.

Canon MP18D II Professional Desktop Two Colors Printing Calculator Review

Canon MP18D II Professional Desktop Two Colors Printing Calculator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've had a habit in the past of working so intensely when I get going that I absentmindedly dump my calculator off on the floor. The last one took that kind of abuse a couple of times and then I had to replace it. I obviously wanted to replace it with the same kind and then hopefully not abuse it.
This one is serving my purposes well and I haven't dumped it on the floor yet. I have it fastened down with Velcro, so I won't do that again.
This machine is easy to operate and functions well. I recommend it.
EDITED after much, much more use to say that I'm very pleased with it. I've had no problems. It's a good, solid machine.

DYMO LabelWriter LW330 Turbo Label Printer Review

DYMO LabelWriter LW330 Turbo Label Printer
Average Reviews:

I have to admit I was very hesitant to purchase this; in many cases, even when a product claims Mac compatibility it usually is just a bare-bones port. When DYMO released v60-something of their software for Mac OS 10 (10.2, Jaguar) I decided to give it a shot. Man, am I glad I did.
This simple little device saves a lot of time. It works from most major programs, but I find a quick copy & paste into the DYMO Label program is just as quick.
Labels print in a second or two after hitting the print button (use the Preferences to bypass the Print Command Window altogether, BTW). This saves a lot of time (and cost) in regards to full-sheet Avery-type labeling.
I've only played around with the large format Shipping Labels (DYMO 30256, 2 5/16 x 4) but there's a wealth of sizes and shapes available.
Images as well as text print sharp, depending on format of the image. I've done all sorts of client labels as well using their labels for them; they're all quite happy with the quality and I believe more than one has purchased one of these.
The only problem I've come across is address book saving; I can't seem to get it to save an address. I'm probably missing something but, as mentioned above, it's just as easy to do a quick copy & paste, for instance, from OS 10's own Address Book (which would seem to be the ideal program for DYMO to tie into).
Pros:
- Quick
- Clean
- Seamless OS 10 connectivity
- Sharp images as well as text (when using proper formats)
Cons:
- A little pricey (but honestly worth it)
- Noisy (but only for the few seconds it prints)
- Not color (but, c'mon, it's thermal!)

Scotch Gift Wrap Cutters with Built-in Ribbon Curler 2 Pack (Colors May Vary) Review

Scotch Gift Wrap Cutters with Built-in Ribbon Curler 2 Pack (Colors May Vary)
Average Reviews:

These gift wrap cutters are a dream! I am left handed as is my mother so I opted to buy the two pack and kept one for myself and gave the other to my mother who has arthritis and has a hard time holding things with her hands. Every year when I cut wrapping paper it does not come out in a straight line. I will lay the wrapping paper down on a flat surface and cut with my right hand since the scissors are on the side of the paper I need cut, the paper always looks like it got stuck in a paper shredder and never turns out smooth. The thing about this it does not matter if you are left or right handed. When you have the paper on a flat surface you simply glide the cutters through the paper and you get a smooth cut. I wish I would have known about these years ago! I have wrapped half my gifts this year already and folding them at the ends with smooth lines looks a lot more appealing and almost professional. I would highly recommend these for people who literally cannot cut a straight line through the wrapping paper like me or for the elderly with arthritis.
