(More customer reviews)We ordered the Waterford Ballet 2 piece cake knife and server set as a gift from a different seller. The product arrived in good time and was well packaged and the items were individually wrapped in sealed, slender plastic bags. All this was great. We examined the items to check that they were okay before we gifted them away. The cake server had black tarnish markings on the handle, which we spotted right away. The cake knife was fine. We contacted the seller, who sent us a replacement right away. Sadly, we had the same issue with the second set. The cake server had black tarnish markings on the handle while the cake knife was fine. We decided to go ahead and return the second set back as well to the seller and request a refund since we neither wanted to gift this set away nor keep it for ourselves. We are giving 2 stars because the product, aside from the tarnish, looks great and makes a nice gift (when in good condition) but we are disappointed that the 2 sets we received had exactly the same problem and we are to accept from the seller that brand new silverware tarnishes and it is okay to gift such items!
