I use two RSM-1's spaced 3 inches apart and turned 90 degrees to each other on a single stand placed in the center of the group to record string quartets- the result is sweet, warm detail and definition with precisely localized instrument placement.
Pronounced proximity effect enhances male vocals- like the original RCA designs, every announcer can be a baritone! Response is flat 8"-10" from mic. Great for close-miking Guitar cabs. Acoustic guitar sounds best at 24" working distance.
